Travis Heim
Travis Heim, Owner & Pitmaster
Heim Barbecue | Fort Worth, TX
Barbecue has always been a passion for Travis Heim—from smoking his first brisket at the age of 13 to trekking across Texas in search of the best hole-in-the-wall BBQ joints. Upon marrying his high school sweetheart (Emma Heim) and attending college in East Texas, Travis & Emma moved back to their hometown of Fort Worth and began hosting pop-up barbecue dinners for family and friends. What started as pop-up dinners became Fort Worth’s must-visit barbecue restaurant that is known for their world famous “Bacon Burnt Ends” and Farm to Smoker barbecue. With no gimmicks or short cuts, Travis takes a slow and low approach to traditional Texas-style barbecue as pitmaster—utilizing a combination of humanely-raised meats and meticulous techniques. Along with its soon-to-be two storefront locations, Heim Barbecue also offers an array of catering capabilities—including a custom “Meat Force One” food truck. Gaining accolades both regionally and nationally, Heim Barbecue was listed in Texas Monthly’s “The List: The Top 50 Barbecue Joints in Texas” and was recently featured in Garden & Gun.
