After spending 16 years in the restaurant industry, Kham Phommahaxay attended culinary school at Cordon Bleu of Chicago.  He graduated with a degree as a chef and began working in various fine dining restaurants in Chicago and eventually became an executive sous chef at Shikago restaurant.  He moved to Dallas in 2011 and settled into an executive chef position.  Kham decided to open a small business in 2014 and the Yim Yam Thai fusion food truck was born.  He wanted to create Thai dishes that were unique but were still familiar to the taste buds.  Kham wanted to please people with his food, hence the name Yim Yam, which means smile in Thai.
